Prior to booking a yacht rental with EquidistanceSquare, please familiarize yourself with this refund policy. By confirming your booking, you consent to these refund conditions.
Cancellation and Refund Guidelines
More than 72 Hours Before Rental
Entitled to: Full refund except for handling charges
Processing Duration: 5-7 business days
Handling Charge: €50 for card payments
Requirements: Must be submitted in writing via email or telephone
24-72 Hours Prior to Rental
Entitled to: Half of the total rental price
Processing Duration: 7-10 business days
Handling Charge: €25 subtracted from the refund
Requirements: Cancellation must be justified; administrative costs applicable
Less than 24 Hours Before Rental
Entitled to: Non-refundable
Exception: Cases of emergencies may warrant special attention
Alternative: A rental credit could be made available at the discretion of the management
Requirements: Supporting documentation is necessary for emergency claims
Non-Favorable Weather Conditions
Guarantee in Case of Bad Weather
We prioritize safety. Should the weather be deemed hazardous for yacht rental activities by our accredited captain, we provide several options:
- Complete Refund: Offered when rescheduling isn't feasible
- Change of Date: Reschedule to an available date free of cost
- Rental Credit: Issued with a 12-month validity from the initial rental date
Procedure for Weather Assessment
Our procedure for weather evaluation includes:
- Analyzing the wind's speed and direction
- Assessing wave height and sea conditions
- Forecasting visibility and precipitation
- Notifying of maritime advisories and alerts
- Reviewing the captain's safety verdict
Final Decision Timing: Decisions on weather-related cancellation are made at least 4 hours before the planned departure.
Refund Conditions for Medical Emergencies
Cases of Emergency
Recognizing that medical emergencies do happen, the following instances may be eligible for special refund consideration:
- Unexpected sickness or injury necessitating hospital admission
- Passing of a close family member
- Unanticipated military summons
- Legal obligations such as jury service or a court subpoena
- Natural calamities impacting travel plans
Requirements for Documentary Proof
To process a refund based on emergencies, please provide:
- A medical statement or hospital records
- A death certificate, when relevant
- Official military mandate
- Official notice for jury or court attendance
- Emergency declarations or travel restrictions
Refund Processing: Emergency refunds are executed within 3-5 business days upon submission of the required proof.
Cancellations on Operational Grounds
Vehicular Malfunction
In the event of technical difficulties with an allocated yacht rendering it inoperative:
- Alternative Options: We will endeavor to secure a comparable vessel
- Complete Refund: If no acceptable alternative is available
- Reduced Refund: If the alternate yacht offers different rates
- Extra Compensation: Possible compensation for any inconvenience
Unavailability of Personnel
On the rare occasion that a certified crew is not available:
- A substitute crew will be provided if possible
- A full refund if the rental can't proceed
- Opportunity to reschedule at no extra charge
Refunding Procedures
Original Mode of Payment
Refunds are directed back to the original mode of payment:
- Cards: 5-7 business days
- Bank Transfers: 7-10 business days
- Cash/Cheque: 3-5 business days
Expenses for Processing
Credit Card Expenses
€50 fee for cancellations over 72 hours prior
Bank Transfer Expenses
€25 fee for all bank transfer reimbursements
International Transfer Expenses
Extra charges may apply to international transactions
Rental Credits
Issuance of Credits
Rental credits are sometimes provided as a substitute for refunds based on various scenarios:
- Cancellations occurring within 24 hours
- Cancellations due to weather conditions
- Voluntary requests for schedule changes
- Interruptions in operations
Stipulations for Credits
- Period of Validity: 12 months from the date of issue
- Non-transferable: Restricted to the guest who made the original booking
- Monetary Worth: Equal to the entire value of the yacht rental
- Utilization: Applicable to any available rental
- Limit of Validity: The credit will expire after 12 months with no extensions
Partial Refunds for Incomplete Services
Service Disruptions
Should the yacht rental experience interruptions or get curtailed due to our oversight:
- Refund proportionate to the unutilized duration
- Credit equivalent to a future rental of the same value
- Complimentary services or enhancements
Discontinuations Caused by Guests
If a rental is ended prematurely due to guest behavior or breaches in safety protocols:
- No reimbursement for the unspent duration
- Complete payment remains obligatory
- Extra fees might be levied
Settling Refund Disagreements
In case of a dispute over a refund decision, you are entitled to:
- Seek a reassessment from our management board
- Provide supplementary evidence or documents
- Look for mediation via consumer protection entities
- Pursue any legal recourse that is provided for by law

2nd Step: Provide Necessary Details
Your request should contain the following:

- The grounds for the cancellation

- Preferred method for refund
3rd Step: Review and Execution
Our staff will confirm reception of your request within a day, analyze it against the guidelines of this policy, reach a verdict within two days, and carry out approved refunds within the stated time frames.
Additional Information
- Refund applications need to be made in writing
- Reimbursements are carried out in €, regardless of the original payment currency used
- Purchasing travel insurance is highly recommended
- Policy updates may occur with a notice period of 30 days
- Refunds are subject to prevailing taxes and regulations
